A daily puzzle
Five cryptic clues. One word links every answer.
Solve the five cryptic clues, then find the Link — usually one word that attaches to every answer to make a new word or phrase (CAMP, SURE, SPIT → all take ‘FIRE’). Some days the Link is a shared category instead — five birds, five colours, five card games — and you're guessing what connects them. Clues are worth 3 points each; every hint used costs 1, down to a floor of 0 — so if you get truly stuck, keep tapping Hint and it will reveal one more letter each time until the whole word is filled in. The Link is worth 5, wrong guesses cost 1. The first two hints teach as they help: the first shows the definition, the second names the wordplay.
A definition (always at the start or end) and wordplay that builds the same answer a second way. The surface meaning is a decoy — read it like a machine, not a sentence.
